Safer communities, healthier lives

Stockton Recovery Service - High Street

Stockton Recovery Service is an integrated drug recovery service. As a service, we offer a wide range of interventions from prescribing services through to needle exchange facilities and harm minimisation advice. Stockton Recovery Service is for anyone aged 18 years and over who may need support around addiction. As a service we offer a tailor made package of support to all service users to support them in making positive sustained changes in their lives.

What we do and how we do it

Stockton Recovery Service offers a wide range of interventions to anyone who lives within the Stockton Borough. As a service we work with and engage service users who have issues with any substance, including opiate use, legal highs and non opiate drugs such as powder cocaine and cannabis.

Referrals can made via other agencies such as GPs, probation services etc, as well as individuals self referring into the service for support. We have a dedicated engagement team who carry out assessments and support engagement in order to identify personalised recovery goals. As a recovery service our aim is to support positive change and to help better the lives of individuals and the wider community. The range of services we offer to support us in achieving this are:

  • Prescribing services
  • Detox from drugs and/or alcohol
  • Foundation of Recovery programme
  • Open access assessments
  • Psychosocial intervention
  • BBV intervention
  • Needle exchange facilities
  • Harm Minimisation advise
  • Links to Stockton Family Service
  • Recovery support and Aftercare
  • BRIC initiatives
  • ETE Support
  • Benefit support
  • Housing support
  • Complementary therapies

Make an appointment

In order to make an appointment at Stockton Recovery Service you can either contact us via telephone where one of the admin staff will be more than happy to assist you in arranging an appointment, or alternately you can call into the service in person.

Make a referral

Referrals can be made by another agency or in person. An individual can walk into Stockton Recovery Service as self refer themselves in. As an open access service we endeavour to initiate the assessment process as soon as the referral is taken.

Referrals can be taken over the phone, where a dedicated staff member will initiate the completion of the CRI registration form. This form allows us to gather basic detail on the individual being referred into the service but also identifies the drug of choice and the nature and complexity of the substance misuse.

Can’t attend your appointment?

If for whatever reason an individual cannot attend an appointment we ask that they contact the service and leave a message with the admin team. This will be passed back to the Recovery Coordinator, and another appointment will be given for the service user to attend.

Stockton Recovery Service, High Street base is located on Stockton High Street down towards the end of Maxwell’s Corner.

Local bus routes are easily accessible with numerous drop off points along Stockton High Street.

Please note all new assessments take place at the High Street premise.
