HMP Belmarsh - CARAT Team
Location of voluntary work; HMP Belmarsh, Thamesmead, SE28
The CARAT Team (Counselling, Assessment, Referral, Advice, Through-care) at HMP Belmarsh provides support to adult male prisoners in a high security setting.
CARAT’s is a client led service whose aim is to reduce the harm caused by problematic drug use to themselves, their families, and the wider community. We support people through 1:1 sessions and groupwork as well as linking them up with services in the community after release.
This role offers you the chance to work in a challenging but rewarding environment, learn new skills and be part of a successful team.

Bognor Regis - Clockwalk Project
The Clock Walk Project is a Tier2, Tier 3 drug and alcohol assessment and treatment service. We provide both voluntary assessment and treatment as well as for those on DRR orders.
The Clock Walk Project offers adults in Bognor Regis and Chichester and surrounding areas a wide range of free services to treat and support individuals with their drug and alcohol misuse. This includes needle exchange, structured daily group activities, one to one support, and a daily drop in service. The aim of the service is to offer a safe, drug free environment to anyone affected by drugs or alcohol. We will provide full support, supervision and accredited training to gain a nationally recognised qualification.

Brighton - CRI Counselling Service
CRI Counselling Service Brighton has an opportunity for volunteers to train as Drug and Alcohol Counsellors. Qualified or currently in counselling training, successful candidates will be offered a comprehensive training programme to work with this client group. Upon completion of the training, counsellors will commence a placement with CRI Counselling Service in Brighton , volunteering for at least one year with a minimum of 3 hours per week. Individual and group supervision and ongoing continuous professional development are all part of this exciting opportunity.

Cumbria Harm Minimisation Service - Carlisle
Cumbria Harm Minimisation Service provides support to people actively engaged in the use of substances via open access needle exchange services both in-house and pharmacy based. We provide sterile equipment for using substances and a confidential environment for used works to be returned and disposed of safely. The service also provides advice and information on a wide range of issues such as safer injecting, blood borne viruses, overdose, treatment etc and signposting to a variety of local support services.

Oasis Night Shelter - Blackpool
Oasis Night shelter, Blackpool is an 8 bed shelter for homeless men and women Aged 26 and above. It is both a safe place of respite from having to sleep rough On the streets and a place of change where service users can receive practical help And advice to stabilise themselves and be linked into the services and organisations Which can help them to move on from homelessness? Oasis Night shelter works in Partnership with the Blackpool Single Homeless Rough Sleepers Team to ensure that the most marginalised of homeless individuals can engage with services.
Oasis needs committed volunteers for Outreach work also volunteers for support Within the shelter. We provide full support, supervision, training and the opportunity to gain a recognised accreditation.

Young People and Families Service, Hastings, East Sussex - Allotment Scheme
CRI value the views of young people and aim to involve service users in the development, delivery and evaluation of projects run within the service. Young people could become involved in anything from consultation groups to participating in interview panels to appoint new CRI workers. CRI uses the Hear By Right standards to assess the progress of participation within the organisation.
As participation aims to give young people a voice within CRI, various workshops are offered with outcomes including confidence building, communication skills and accreditation to raise aspirations and access to education, employment and training opportunities.
Other projects include the Allotment scheme in Hastings for which we would like to recruit volunteers to work with young people and families to promote healthy living and eating; support them to grow their own fruit, vegetables and herbs.

Gwent - Drug Interventions Programme
CRI's Gwent Drug Interventions Programme is now in a position to offer opportunities for potential volunteers interested in becoming part of a friendly, forward thinking and very successful drugs project in Gwent. Our main objective is to reduce the likelihood of substance related re- offending by providing one to one case management support to adults whose substance misuse is linked to offending behaviour. We offer a new, comprehensive induction to the work we do, giving each volunteer an opportunity to see every aspect of the project and also to meet every member of staff. We are particularly interested in those qualified or working towards qualification in social care related fields, in return for your time and commitment we hope to provide volunteers with valuable experience in this area of work and an opportunity to gain a relevant qualification via the Open College Network.
