Alcohol Activity Requirement, Cardiff, The Vale of Glamorgan, Rhondda Cynon Taff and Merthyr Tydfil. The requirement is awarded by the court to individuals who would benefit from treatment for their alcohol misuse.
All programmes include:
- one-to-one key work
- group work
- alternative therapies
- referral to other specialists where required
Aims: to facilitate reduction in offending behaviour and alcohol misuse.
Cardiff, The Vale of Glamorgan, Rhondda Cynon Taff and Merthyr Tydfil – Alcohol Activity Requirement. CRI was awarded the new alcohol activity requirements for these areas in Wales in April 2009.
The alcohol activity requirement offers a holistic treatment package of key work and group work. Service users attend once weekly for key work and once weekly for group work. They are able to take part in breath testing for alcohol breath content on a voluntary basis. Latterly, individuals have a comprehensive treatment regime agreed by them with their key worker and offender manager.
