DAIS Reading

Who we are

DAIS is a voluntary sector service dedicated to helping drug and alcohol users access harm reduction services and treatment. We are a client-led, confidential service that offers information support and advice in a non-judgemental and informal environment. You do not need an appointment to access our service.

DAIS offers drug and alcohol misusers an opportunity to reduce the harm caused by their substance use to themselves and others. This can start with as little as a cup of tea and talking about the possibilities through to learning ways to manage more safely and then making decisions about what sort of a future to aim for and taking the first steps. Service users can then make use of regular appointment slots to work towards the goals they have set.

Service users with a drug or alcohol problems can drop in any weekday (see opening times below) and the service is free. Staff are friendly and will take time to explain how the service operates and how we can help. We respect the need for confidentiality and staff will be clear about any limitations and seek your permission to share information.
