Gwent DIP provides a throughcare and aftercare service for class A drug users who have come into contact with the police and criminal justice system due to their drug use. This includes being arrested for possession; receiving a fixed penalty and caution; or a charge leading to a court appearance. Class A drugs are cocaine, heroin and crack cocaine.

You can access the service if you live in the Gwent area and:
- are over 18
- are in contact with the criminal justice system
- have drug and alcohol misuse issues
The service incorporates:
- arrest referral
- prison resettlement
- one-to-one support
- structured group work
- alternative therapies
