HOMER New Forest

Who we are

Hampshire Operational Model for Effective Recovery (HOMER) is an integrated county wide drug and alcohol service for:

- Adults & people (who are over 18) in Hampshire who are experiencing problems with drugs or alcohol - People who are concerned about their own, or somebody else’s drug or alcohol use.

HOMER New Forest hub aims to enable people to reach their full potential as individuals and community members. Individuals will be encouraged to make positive changes and to lead meaningful and purposeful lives. Our service offers a range of interventions based on the Recovery Model.

This service is open to all individuals residing in the New Forest (including Fordingbridge, Hythe, Lymington, New Milton, Ringwood and Totton)

Staff, peer mentors and volunteers will be available to assist people on their recovery journey and ensure service users have an active voice in their community. The service includes:

- Open access - Recovery journey planning - Group work programmes - Access to community prescribing - Outreach - Relaxation and acupuncture - Needle exchange - One to one appointments - Late night and weekend opening hours - Counselling - Acupuncture

Ringwood (Main hub) offer a full range of services including open access (individuals can drop in without an appointment and receive support to begin their recovery journey)

Our opening hours are:

- Monday 9-7pm - Tuesday 9-5pm - Wednesday 9-5pm - Friday 9-5pm

New Milton (satellite hub) also offers a full range of services including open access

Our opening hours are:

- Monday 9.30 – 4.00pm, 5.45 – 7.45pm for group work - Wednesday 9.30 – 4.30 - Friday 9-5pm - Saturday 10-2pm

The HOMER New Forest service will work closely with Job Centre Plus, Education Centres, Local businesses, housing providers and wide variety of other local groups/agencies to support individuals on their recovery journey.

Access to the service can either be through self referral via the telephone, or by dropping in at any time. To access the service individuals are very welcome to come in and speak to a member of staff, peer mentor or volunteer.
