DRR Recovery Worker

East Brighton Recovery Centre

Reference: MP353

£21,145 - £24,817 per annum

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen within CRI Brighton and Hove Recovery Services for an enthusiastic, dedicated and outcome focused Recovery Worker to join our successful team.

The role will require you to work with service users to initiate recovery from substance misuse, to enable service users to build their own recovery capital and to support them into long-term sustained recovery and social integration.

This will involve initial assessment of the service user’s needs, care coordination, use of ITEP, motivational interventions and a good understanding of the recovery agenda. Successful applicants will be required to deliver both structured and semi-structured groups, provide harm minimization advice and information and develop supportive strategies around relapse prevention.

The role involves working with offenders who have received court-ordered drug treatment (Drug Rehabilitation Requirements) and therefore requires good partnership working with Surrey and Sussex Probation Trust. The DRR aims to reduce drug-related crime and improve the quality of life of offenders, their families and communities. The role also involves Care Coordination of voluntary service users who may have complex needs. You will offer brief and more intensive interventions within a strength-based approach, to promote positive change in areas such as psychological, emotional, physical and social wellbeing, and therefore good partnership working with several different organisations is required. There may be opportunities to work within other CRI teams as required, thus gaining valuable experience in other areas of drug treatment.

A clear understanding of the importance of meeting targets and keeping accurate and up-to-date records is essential, as well as clear evidence of your ability to prioritise and manage your time effectively.

In return for hard work, professionalism, dedication and a passion for delivering excellent client focused services, we offer excellent terms and conditions, a comprehensive career development plan and the support you need to really make a difference to service users in their recovery.

CRI are committed to ensuring the safeguarding and wellbeing of children and adults at risk and all applicants will be required to demonstrate understanding of, and commitment to, best safeguarding practice.
