Who we are
New Direction provides an integrated treatment system for adults who have a problem with drug and alcohol use. The service works with people at all points of their treatment journey from engagement into services to recovery. We also provide support services to family and carers whose lives are affected by another’s drug and alcohol use.
The open access service offers assessment 5 days a week.
What we do
Our workers come from a mutli-disciplinary background and we employ; nurses, keyworkers, doctors and counsellors. We also run a volunteer and a peer mentor programme.

To come an for assessment please attend one of our open access sessions at 410 Lewisham High Street, Lewisham SE13 6LJ. Monday and Wednesday 10am to 7pm, Tuesday 1.30pm to 5pm, Thursday and Friday 10am to 5pm. We also offer open access at 55 Dartmouth Road, Forrest Hill, SE23 3HN on an appointment basis for people who find it difficult to get to the Lewisham service. We also accept referrals by phone 020 8314 5566.
Apart from our main sites we operate from a number of locations including; Hostels, Penrose Fusion (DIP), Job Centre Plus, Lewisham Hospital,The Ladywell Unit, Fairway Lodge, The Albany Centre, Downham Leisure centre and 9 GP surgeries in the borough.
