Purpose of Job
• Have knowledge of range of services provided locally
• Understand the nature of, and engage with people in their personal target group
• Encourage personal health pledges
• Build up knowledge of area, in terms of population profile and agencies present in that area
• Identify ways of ensuring on-going contact with the local community and action these as appropriate
• Initiate appropriate groups (if necessary) to identify and engage with individuals with health issues
• Access relevant training opportunities as discussed with project coordinator
• Inform the project coordinator of any suggestions of ways to improve local services
• Discuss with the project coordinator their own capacity and capability for the volunteer role.
