RISE is a borough-wide drug and alcohol recovery service working with people throughout their treatment journey; from engagement, through to treatment, prescribing to aftercare. RISE offers a wide range of interventions to Ealing residents, over 18, their families and partners who are experiencing difficulties with drug or alcohol use.
We have two hubs for service users currently using substances, based in Southall and West Ealing. The work done at each hub is identical. We try to match volunteers/mentors with their preferred base, but cross-site working will be required at time to time from all volunteers/mentors and at times, opportunities may be open on one site only. Any expense incurred in this travel will be reimbursed.
Our Peer Mentors bridge the gap between service reception and service delivery, modelling visible recovery to current service users and encouraging them to engage effectively in treatment. The role will be mostly waiting-room based, with optional involvement in service user events across the borough of Ealing.
Applicants for this role should have finished CRI’s Peer Mentor training or Addaction’s NEXT programme at the time of applying. In the near future, RISE hopes to offer its own local training for service users looking to become peer mentors, but in the meantime all interest in doing so should be discussed with your Key Worker/local Peer Mentoring Coordinator, who can forward your application to CRI’s Regional Peer Mentor Trainer based in Camberwell, Southwark.
