Volunteer Complementary Therapy Placement

ISIS

Reference: VOLL026
Hours: 1 or 2 days

The ISIS Project assists those living in the Borough of Islington with substance misuse issues by providing a range of services including prescribing, needle exchange, psychosocial interventions and Complementary Therapies.

Complementary Therapies (CT’s) are especially popular with our clients, and our offering of Shiatsu, Craniosacral Therapy, Full Body and Ear Acupuncture are delivered by a team of volunteer practitioners. The CT service operates reflectively with regular supervision and routinely gathers feedback from service users.

We are looking for a volunteer to support the part-time Complementary Therapy Lead in maintaining and growing the service. Making appointments and helping clients to keep them is fundamental to the success of the service and entails plenty of contact with clients. We may draw on any research training you have to hone our feedback and evaluation methods. Next to an administrative component – providing you are ready to practice – there is also the opportunity to deliver 2 or 3 sessions of your therapy to service users.
