Gateway Recovery Service, Barking and Dagenham

Who we are

The Recovery Service works to create safer and healthier communities. We help people break free from harmful patterns of behaviour by delivering innovative services which have a measurable impact on both health and community safety issues.

What we do

The Recovery Service provides a range of drug treatment services and interventions to Barking and Dagenham residents which consist of specialist prescribing medically assisted recovery model, rapid prescribing, shared care, dual diagnosis and blood borne virus services along with advice, information and training to carers, partners, families and other professionals.

The specialist key areas of work are:

  • Information, advice and support including harm minimisation
  • Brief interventions
  • Triage and comperhensive assessments
  • Referrals to other treatment provicders, social services and health services
  • Addressing offending behaviour and meeting the needs of service users and probation for those on drug rehabilitation requirements (DRRs)
  • Provide access to employment, education and training
  • Specialist substitute prescribing, including same day prescribing for all service users
  • Shared care
  • Dual diagnosis
  • Blood borne virus services
  • Service user, carer and family involvement
