Shepherd House is a purpose-built supported housing project in Folkestone offering accommodation to 18-65 year-olds who may have completed primary treatment or be fully engaged with appropriate substance misuse agencies.
Shepherd House aims to provide a range of interventions to reduce the likelihood of relapse; enhance social skills and sense of self-worth; and focus on developing independent living skills. We actively encourage engagement in voluntary work, education, training and community involvement to develop structure and responsibility in the lives of our service users.
The emphasis is on helping individuals to develop the skills necessary to manage their lives without the use of illegal substances and/or alcohol so that they can return to independent living and employment.
Our team is made up of experienced project workers who support individuals in maintaining abstinence and working toward independent living.

CRI, Supporting People, Salvation Army Housing Association (SAHA) and Shepway Council work in partnership with Kent County Council Social Services to provide a service for motivated individuals who wish to maintain their abstinence and work toward independent living.

This service is committed to the promotion of independence. Service users are encouraged to make positive choices to develop their life skills in a safe environment and to free themselves from dependence, reliance on others and to direct their own affairs.
