Who we are

The Camden Safer Streets Team is dedicated to identifying and working with people on the streets whose anti-social behaviour may be causing a nuisance, putting themselves and others at risk, and making people feel unsafe.

What we do

We work with:

• People sleeping rough on the streets
• People who drink alcohol or use drugs on the streets
• People who beg for money from passers by
• Sex workers on the streets

What we do

We work in partnership with the police and other agencies to address the needs of people living and working on the streets. We provide street people with advice and referrals to services such as primary health care, substance misuse services, counselling, housing and benefits. We aim to help enable street people to address their issues, leave the streets and lead more constructive, safer and responsible lives.

We also provide a visible presence on the streets to reassure local people and the business community.

• You are a member of the general public or the local business community and are concerned about what is happening on your streets.
• You belong to a statutory, voluntary or charitable sector agency which works with the street population and you want more information.
• You are living or working on the streets and want someone to talk to.

People who continue to cause a nuisance on the street are at risk of having an Anti Social Behaviour Order placed on them by the courts. This may limit where they can go and what they can do.

People who disobey the conditions of the court order may be arrested by the police.
