St Thomas Fund: Stage 2

Who we are

St Thomas Fund offers a structured day programme (SDP) with a specific focus on preparing people for residential treatment. As the SDP is part of the integrated support pathway with Brighton & Hove city council, accommodation is provided via the action area at New Steine Mews hostel.

The St Thomas Fund SDP offers a daily group work programme and one to one support Monday to Friday. The programme is designed to prepare service users for residential treatment with St Thomas Fund. Service users are expected to be minimising and ceasing their illicit substance use with support from the programme.

There are eight places on the programme and they are linked to accommodation in the action area of New Steine Mews hostel run by Brighton & Hove city council. Both staff teams work in partnership to ensure the needs of the service users are met and they are working towards residential treatment. Service users needs to be on substitute opiate prescriptions, if required, to reside at New Steine Mews.

Please see the hostels website for more information www.nsmhostel.org.uk.

The group work programme mirrors that of the residential programme and service users are invited to attend lunch with the residents. This enables a smooth transition to the residential side of the service. Through one to one key work service users engage in assignments focussing on coping with cravings, assertiveness skills, making decisions and moving into residential treatment.
