CRI North Lincolnshire recruits Novel Psychoactive Substances Project Development Worker

2014-06-24

The North Lincolnshire Substance Misuse Team has developed an action plan in response to pressing local demand with regards to Novel Psychoactive Substances (NPS). The NPS Project Development Worker will lead on this plan and deliver education and training in the community for professionals, parents and families.

The new post is part of an integrated substance misuse treatment system and links people who are presenting at various agencies across North Lincolnshire with the appropriate treatment and support interventions. The NPS Project Development Worker will establish links with key agencies across the area with the view to reducing the impact of Novel Psychoactive Substances on services, the individual and the wider community.  They will develop and deliver training for professional and partner organisations and support services in the development of user led delivery.

The worker will be supported by Michael Lawrence, CRI’s NPS and Online Technologies Development Manager, who is involved at a strategic level in the emerging field of NPS awareness and development. This includes 1:1 training and continued support. Further knowledge and experience can be shared through NPS@CRI, a Google group set up by Michael, which acts as a teaching and learning platform whereby staff can ask questions and share information as well as best practice.
