ETE Bradford
Bradford Education, Training and Employment (ETE) is a specialist service for individuals with any involvement with Substance Misuse or Alcohol Services. It aims to provide a personalised pathway for those wishing to access ETE opportunities in Bradford to move individual's further towards the labour market.
It is a unique project which aims to provide a personalised pathway for all those wishing to access ETE opportunities. The most common pathway would involve a service user being referred from a partnership agency or self referring, initial assessments take place and a learning and development pathway established. Service Users can choose to develop their skills by accessing local education and training providers or alternatively can embark on the Level 2 National Open College Network Diploma in Progression. The pathway can include service user involvement or volunteering and this is managed between the Project Manager and the external agency.
Alternatively if someone wished to access the service who is close to the labour market there is a pathway developed to look at CV's, portfolio development, job searches, mock interview practice and general career development. Those needing this service will also be encouraged to access any education/training needed to enhance skills to gain employment in their chosen area.
As service users in this area often face barriers to employment, this service aims to reduce the barriers and increase education for mainstream services and partnership agencies around substance misuse. By looking to turn 'Service Users into Service Providers' Bradford ETE aims to offer all the opportunities to develop in this area using policies and procedures to guide individuals through a comprehensive pathway of progression.
