Safer communities, healthier lives

About our clinical work

CRI was founded in 1977 and has grown from a small local charity to nearly 200 services, 2,000 staff, more than 500 volunteers and mentors, and a turnover of over £90m. We work with individuals, families and communities across England and Wales affected by drugs, alcohol, crime, homelessness, domestic abuse and antisocial behaviour.

Our recovery-oriented adult and young people’s substance misuse, alcohol and prison setting services have over 8,000 prescribed clients at any one time.

Going forward, we are focusing on recruitment and training for our clinicians; collecting robust and accurate data using our information systems; and increased involvement in research, most notably with our research partners, the University of Manchester.
