We adopt a pro-active approach to help individuals break free from harmful patterns of behaviour, who have a Class A drug misuse problem and who are involved in the criminal justice system.
We provide a seamless service to those either leaving prison and sentenced to under 12 months, may have been recalled until their sentence end date or have received other sentences i.e. fines, conditional discharges and conditional cautioning. Individuals can also access our service if they are ending their community sentences / licence and still require further wrap around services or treatment interventions.
We also run the ATR and DRR court order programmes which include workshops (groups) and one to one sessions with service users.
The Surrey DIP work assertively with hard to engage drug misusers, we offer a recovery focussed, holistic approach and develop an agreed recovery plan tailored to the individual needs. We also provide Arrest Referral in Surrey Custody & Courts, assertive outreach, harm minimisation, advice, support and referrals for housing, benefits, education, training, employment and counselling.
We have a philosophy of inclusion and assist in the continuity of care for all individuals either wanting to abstain from drugs, who maybe actively using but want to reduce their usage and may lead chaotic lives.
We work in alignment with the Surrey Integrated Offender Management teams and Surrey Probation as well as treatment agencies with the aim of engaging individuals into treatment and reducing crime.
