184
184 is a community drug service offering structured interventions to adults living in Camden. We support people who want to make changes to their drug use, and for any kind of drug including cannabis, cocaine, ketamine, MDMA, heroin, crack, new psychosocial substances (or “legal highs”) like GHB, methadrone, and synthetic cannabinoids. We offer a wide range of support to service users that include Foundations of Recovery groups - a cutting edge treatment platform based on CBT, ACT and MI. We also offer acupuncture, drama groups, art therapy, counselling, and have evening and weekend services available to those who work.
What we do and how we do it
184 offers support to people over the age of 18 who live in the borough of Camden. We specialise in working with people who use drugs, and also have a dedicated alcohol service nearby. In addition, we have a families and friends service called Some Space who offers support to people living with or supporting loved ones who use drugs or alcohol.
When you first come to 184, you will meet one of our friendly practitioners who will get to know you, tell you more about what we do, and take you through our assessment process. You’ll leave feeling relieved that you’ve made your first step towards a happier and healthier life, with an appointment for a next session to set some goals. You can then attend one of our introduction sessions to find out about Foundations of Recovery and how you can join, and will have access to all our other services on offer.
We offer:
- Group work programmes
- Counselling and art therapy
- Peer support groups
- 1-1 sessions
- Recovery Cafe
- Needle exchange service
- Open access for drop in support
- Advice and information
- Legal advice
- Weekend social clubs
- Various interest activities like drama, music and art groups.
