HOMER - Aldershot

Hampshire Operational Model for Effective Recovery (HOMER) provides a flexible treatment and support service for those over 18, with a focus on recovery and community reintegration.

We aim to enable people to reach their full potential as individuals and community members. Individuals are encouraged to make positive changes and to lead meaningful and purposeful lives.

The Aldershot hub is open to anyone affected by substance misuse issues living in and around Basingstoke, Tadley andAlton, including service users, families and carers.

This service offers a range of interventions based on the Recovery Model.

What we do

Staff, peer mentors and volunteers are available to assist people on their recovery journeys and ensure service users have an active voice in their treatment options and in the wider community. The service includes:

• Open access
• Recovery journey planning
• Group work programmes
• Access to community prescribing
• Outreach
• Relaxation and acupuncture
• Needle exchange
• Key working and one-to-one appointments
• Breakfast club
• Late night and weekend opening hours
• Counselling
• Peer support group

The HOMER Aldershot service works closely with Job Centre Plus, Education Centres, local businesses, housing providers and a wide variety of other local groups and agencies to support individuals on their recovery journey.

Next steps

Access to the service can be through self-referral; via referring agencies, such as GPs and pharmacies or via the telephone. You can drop in at any time during opening hours to speak to a member of staff, peer mentor or volunteer.
