Recovery Worker - Newham - KC1834

CRI Newham is an integrated end-to-end treatment and recovery service which offers a wide range of pharmacological and psychosocial interventions to Newham residents 18 years and over, their families and significant others who are experiencing issues with drugs and/or alcohol use. We are now looking to recruit a Recovery Worker.

The post holder will be integral to ensuring a high quality service that promotes recovery, resilience, and self-determination across the service. Newham Drug and Alcohol Service will support people in a recovery oriented system of intervention; the service will be user-focused and aspirational in its work with service users to realise their identified goals including the attainment of the highest quality of life possible, social reintegration and sustained recovery from problematic substance use. The post-holder will ensure that all clients consistently receive high quality services that adhere to the best practice guidelines and achieve high professional standards holistically supporting adult service users to enter and move through integrated recovery oriented substance misuse services and increase opportunities for service users to achieve sustainable treatment outcomes within Newham Borough.

As directed by the Team Leaders and Services Manager, the Recovery Worker will be an integral member of a multi-disciplinary team delivering comprehensive interventions across operational sites in Newham, as well as the outreach and in-reach provision in the locality area. The Recovery Worker will carry a caseload and provide screening, comprehensive assessments, needle exchange, risk assessment and risk management, recovery planning & review, support access to medically assisted recovery (through titration and prescribing regimes), provide outreach / in-reach services, deliver 1-1 key working sessions as well as structured groups to support service users through engagement, detoxification, stabilisation and rehabilitation. The post holder will work with service users to initiate recovery, build and utilise recovery capital to move into long term sustained recovery and social reintegration.

In fulfilling these aims the post holder will have experience of a range of recognised evidenced based interventions for use with substance mis-users, including, pharmacological interventions, strength based assessments ITEP, motivational interviewing techniques, CBT. You will ensure you keep up to date with relevant safeguarding legislation and knowledge regarding recommended and evidence-based interventions and practice guidance. You will also support the roll-out and delivery of CRI’s Foundations of Recovery programme across the Newham Drug and Alcohol Service.

The post holder will be required to work flexibly within an agreed number of hours to maintain the most appropriate level of service provision. This may include evening and weekend working.

In fulfilling these aims the post holder will use recognised, up to date evidenced based interventions and will have specific responsibility for the development, delivery and coordination of a recovery focused model.

The post holder will be responsible for contributing to the overall performance of the service to ensure that contractual output targets are achieved and will be required to record and input client data and information in order that the service operates within contractual, administrative and financial requirements.

The post holder will be expected to take responsibility for personal development, identifying personal training needs and participate in regular supervision and appraisal.
